About

A little about me:
I grew up a horse-crazy girl in Central Florida. While I've never owned horses of my own, I  rode fairly often in my teen years. I discovered (and subsequently started collecting) model horses when I was 10 years old, and discovered customizing and resin side of the hobby back in 2005. I was hooked! I have always been a creative, and finding something that fuels my love for sculpture, as well as my love for horses was just a dream come true. I am now on my 20th year in the hobby, and 8th year as a full time artist. I strive to continue to learn and refine my technique in both sculpting and painting the equine form. I currently reside in near Asheville, NC with my wonderful partner Sam, and our cat Ryu. (and my ancient bearded dragon, Norbert).

My Artistic Process:
My ideal artists process for my sculptures and drastic customs tends to be one of flow, allowing the piece to develop and change as the piece progresses. I use resin, and various putty epoxies to sculpt, and I paint with mixed media, including: airbrush, pastels, acrylic hand painting and oils to achieve the desired look. While realism was something I focused on early on in my career, lately I have really been enjoying combining realistic sculpture with surrealistic color.

My Artistic Goals:
Capturing the essence and spirit of the horse is always the goal with any of my pieces. Freezing moments in time, telling a story, and imbuing my own emotions into these pieces.

I would love to expand my body of sculptures outside of just the equine form. As an avid animal lover and nature nerd, there is just so much out there I would like to capture in sculptural form. Our natural world is so stunning and interesting, and conservation of both our environment and the animals within it it so important. I hope to one day have some work displayed in one of Asheville's many art Galleries.
